The patients ranged in age from 18 to 83 years old and all had at least two or more symptoms associated with either their prostatitis or urethral syndrome. The symptoms included discomfort with urination, frequency of urination, or the need to urinate multiple times during the night. Other symptoms were urgency to void, a loss of urine called urgency incontinence or continuation of urine dribbling after the person thought they should be finished. Testicular pain, lower abdominal pain, groin pain and perineal pain were also some of the symptoms.
